Impact, by Design
Every day, we are helped by people we do not know.
We may be helped by what we read in the morning news. We are helped by the people that design our clothes, cars, appliances, and technology. We are inspired by the voices of writers, artists, and thinkers who help us navigate and make sense of the complexities of life.
What kind of business would we create if grateful, delighted customers were our goal?
What if we created cultures where people knew that their work mattered and that they were making a difference?
What would it take to help our customers see and acknowledge how much we help their lives?
Most of the decisions in our lives are made by design. The intent or plan we put into them, whether conscious of them or not, drives our choices. Think about the clothes you wear each day; the job you do; the company you work at or run, and the house and community you live in. All these choices were made with an intent in mind. And each choice we make has an impact on us and often others.
By designing our efforts to make a significant positive impact on the people around you — your customers, your team and co-workers, your community, and your everyday life — you set in motion a series of outcomes that helps others who may not know you. Still, they’re better for you being part of their life.
How much of a difference could we all make by connecting our effort with its impact?
Can we become more grateful customers, employees, co-workers, and leaders?
Can we be more intentional leaders and build the type of organizations designed for impact?
Imagine what difference you could make by connecting your effort to its impact.
